Kiel (dpa / lno) - According to Education Minister Karin Prien, the obligation to have corona tests at Schleswig-Holstein's schools has started well and is accepted by most.

"Abitur exams, compulsory tests and still everyday life under Corona conditions - the challenges for the schools are enormous even after the Easter break, but they have mastered them again with great care and a high degree of professionalism," said the CDU politician on Wednesday.

Since Monday, schools in the north can only be entered with a negative corona test, which must not be older than three days.

There are two tests per person per week.

An initial query with the 15 school authorities showed that between 85 and 95 percent of the students took part in the tests. “The proportion of those who took the opportunity to test themselves at home was low. Test refusers only occurred sporadically, ”said Prien. A major challenge, however, is the procurement of around 840,000 tests per week and their distribution to 950 school locations.

The examinees are exempt from the obligation to test on examination days.

On Tuesday, these were participants in the central Abitur exams in German.

Of 5928 test subjects only 41 did not show up.

"That corresponds to 0.69 percent," said Prien.

This again shows that the test subjects made almost no use of the option granted this year to switch to re-entry dates from the outset.

With a view to the upcoming Federal Infection Protection Act, Prien said that in the north it would remain with a stable seven-day incidence of over 100 in distance teaching and emergency care.

However, tests would take place in all districts and urban districts in presence under hygienic conditions.
