• Earth Day, Biden: "We will cut emissions by 50% by 2030"

April 22, 2021 The goals set by world leaders to tackle climate change are "largely insufficient".

Greta Thunberg said this in a message recorded on the day of the summit wanted by Joe Biden on "climate change".

"We cannot be satisfied with something just because it is better than nothing", the Swedish activist underlined, stating that "we are already decades behind".

Greta noted that there is a gap between the "goals that world leaders will present on Earth Day, including that of achieving zero emissions in 2050", and "the best scientific data available".

The activist spoke of a "gap of awareness, time and action" in reducing emissions that is equivalent to "the biggest elephant that has ever been in a room". This gap "can no longer be ignored".
