Three weeks after the start of the third confinement, and four days before the start of the school year for kindergarten, primary and nursery school students, the Prime Minister, Jean Castex, holds a new press conference, Thursday April 22 at 6 p.m., on the health situation linked to Covid-19 in France.

The Ministers of Health, Olivier Véran, and the Minister of Education, Jean-Michel Blanquer, will also be present alongside the head of government who should notably address the issue of the health protocol to be put in place in schools from Monday.

The borders and the vaccination campaign should also be clarified in the aftermath of a defense council during which the executive decided to maintain its objective of gradually lifting the restrictions in May.

On Wednesday, government spokesman Gabriel Attal confirmed that the schedule announced by Emmanuel Macron in his speech on March 31 did indeed constitute "the working basis", with a reopening of schools scheduled for April 26, a lifting travel restrictions on May 3 and a reopening of "certain terraces" and places of culture in mid-May.
