Berlin (AP) - The Berlin referee Daniel Siebert has been nominated by UEFA for the European Football Championship.

The 36-year-old is one of 19 referees selected by the Continental Federation on Wednesday.

For Siebert, it is his most important assignment as a referee to date.

His team includes Jan Seidel from Oberkrämer in Brandenburg and Rafael Foltyn from Wiesbaden as assistants.

From June 7th, all referees will move to a European Championship camp in Istanbul, UEFA announced on Wednesday.

UEFA will decide at short notice about the appearances in the 51 games between June 11 and July 11 in possibly twelve countries.

The sports scientist Siebert has been whistling in the Bundesliga since 2012 and international games in the senior division since 2015.

In addition to Siebert and his team, Felix Brych and his assistants Mark Borsch and Stefan Lupp were nominated as DFB referees, and Bastian Dankert, Christian Dingert, Marco Fritz and Christian Gittelmann were nominated by UEFA as video referees.
