Lübeck (dpa / lno) - VfB Lübeck suffered another setback in the relegation battle of the 3rd soccer league.

Against FC Ingolstadt there was a 1: 1 (0: 0) on Wednesday evening at Lohmühle, so that the planned catch-up had to be postponed again.

Sebastian Hertner (65th) brought Lübeck into the lead, Tobias Schröck (74th) equalized.

After just one win from the last eight games, VfB remains 19th, and hope of staying in the class is fading.

On Sunday (1:00 p.m.) the newcomer competes at 1. FC Magdeburg and has to get a three-point if possible to feed the chances.

VfB coach Rolf-Martin Landerl made two changes in the starting line-up: Captain Tommy Grupe moved back into the team after being suspended from yellow, replacing Marvin Thiel, who had also recently seen his fifth yellow card.

And Thorben Deters played for Elsamed Ramaj.

This did not have any great tactical effects, as both teams acted very cautiously.

The focus was on standard situations, but there wasn't a single big chance before the break.

In the second half, the promotion candidate from Bavaria took the initiative.

But the VfB defensive around the strong group was secure, and in front suddenly there were more spaces.

Hertner used one of them to score a dream goal: after Thorben Deters' presentation, the 29-year-old defender pulled away and hit the corner - the former second division player's first goal for Lübeck.

Now the Schanzer responded with furious attacks.

This led to success when Schröck scored after a corner kick.

Then Lübeck defended the point with man and mouse.

Downside for VfB: Mirko Boland saw his fifth yellow card and is therefore suspended once.
