On April 20th, during the rainy season, Yuan Longping’s super hybrid rice "Chaoyouqian" seedling cultivation was completed in Caoba Town, Mengzi City, Honghe Prefecture, Yunnan Province, and the transplanting and transplanting work was carried out as scheduled.
In this seedling transplanting, all the 2000 trays of seedlings bred on March 20 will be transplanted to paddy fields. 101 mu is planned to be planted, and the expected yield per mu is 1,200 kg, which will impact the world record of rice yield per mu.
2021 is the fifth year of the cooperation between Mengzi City and the Plateau Breeding and Propagation Demonstration Center of the National Hybrid Rice Engineering Technology Research Center to introduce Yuan Longping super hybrid rice for high-yield research and demonstration projects. In the past four years, the rice output of the experimental field has been increasing. The output reached more than 1100 kilograms, and the results were gratifying.
In 2021, Yuan Longping’s super hybrid rice "Chaoyouqian" in Caoba Town has a target yield of 18 tons per hectare (i.e., 1200 kg per mu).
