Alfeld (dpa / lni) - Unknown perpetrators shot at a circus caravan in Alfeld in the Hildesheim district.

No one was injured, the police said.

The perpetrators would probably have used an air rifle or airsoft weapon last Saturday.

According to previous knowledge, a 46-year-old man was in the caravan at the time, heard a cracking noise and ran out of the trailer.

He saw a car drive away and alerted the police.

According to a report in the “Bild” newspaper (Wednesday), strangers are said to have fired 45 times at the caravan in which the 46-year-old lives with his mother.

When searching for clues, the police found a hole in a plastic window, according to the police.

However, only the outer double glazing was damaged.

Last November, there was already a similar incident in which eight holes were found on the outer facade of the caravan, it said.

A suspect could not be identified.

A connection between the two acts is being examined.

The police are increasingly patrolling the caravan stand.

According to the report, the mini-circus pitched its tent on a meadow on the edge of the Föhrste district in March 2020 and set up the enclosures for the show animals such as ponies, goats, pigeons and dogs.

Then came the corona lockdown.
