The France team will face host country Japan, Mexico and South Africa in the group stage of the Tokyo Olympics football tournament this summer, according to the draw on Wednesday.

Sylvain Ripoll's Bleuets have been placed in Group A and will begin their tournament on July 22 in Tokyo against Mexico.

They will then face South Africa on July 25 in Saitama and finally Japan on July 28 in Yokohama.

The draw also reserved a complicated course for Brazil, defending champion, who will face Germany, Côte d'Ivoire and Saudi Arabia in Group D.

Group C is also relieved with Egypt, which hopes the presence of Mohamed Salah, Spain, Argentina and Australia.

In Group B, the two qualifying places for the quarter-finals will be played between New Zealand, South Korea, Honduras and Romania.

On the women's side, the big American favorites will face Sweden, Australia and New Zealand in Group G.
