Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - The driver of a truck got stuck with his vehicle in a track bed in Stuttgart on Wednesday.

While the fire brigade was removing the vehicle and trailer from the tracks, the area between Kelterplatz and Frankenstrasse had to be closed for hours.

The trams no longer ran either.

The Stuttgarter Straßenbahnen AG set up a replacement service.

According to police, the 59-year-old man drove over tracks in the Zuffenhausen district.

The front axle was up, so that the truck finally broke down.

The amount of the damage could not initially be quantified by the police.

The fire brigade's work lasted until the early afternoon.
