“Today I signed an order on the registration in Ukraine of the AstraZeneca vaccine, which is manufactured at a South Korean site,” he was quoted by STRANA.ua.
He noted that the delivery of the drug under the COVAX initiative is expected as early as Thursday, April 22.
Stepanov emphasized that the AstraZeneca and CoviShield vaccines are absolutely identical, which means that the South Korean vaccine is suitable for vaccination with the second dose of those who were vaccinated with the Indian-made AstraZeneca drug.
Earlier, Stepanov announced the need to create a Ukrainian drug for the coronavirus infection COVID-19.
