Kiel (dpa / lno) - After a 14-day corona quarantine, Holstein Kiel's second division footballers have resumed their training.

As the Schleswig-Holsteiner announced on Wednesday, the squad of head coach Ole Werner completed a nearly 70-minute session.

Apart from the injured professionals Stefan Thesker and Mikkel Kirkeskov, goalkeeper Ioannis Gelios and field players Alexander Mühling and Aleksandar Ignjovski were not on the field.

The trio is still in domestic isolation after positive Covid-19 findings, it said from the ranks of the Kiel.

After the Holstein players had kept themselves fit for two weeks in their own four walls in the form of daily cyber training units, on Wednesday the focus was again on working with the ball.

After a detailed warm-up program and exercises to get used to the ball, the kickers switched to several forms of play, in which the focus was on passing, shifting the game and scoring goals.

The preparation was "in full swing", wrote the Kieler.

Werner doesn't have much time either: The 32-year-old's team will be playing at VfL Osnabrück on Saturday (1 p.m. / Sky).
