Erfurt (dpa / th) - According to the Robert Koch Institute, 5125 new corona cases have been reported in Thuringia in the past seven days.
This corresponds to an incidence of around 240, as the Ministry of Health announced on Wednesday, citing the RKI.
As it has for months, the Free State remains the federal state most severely affected by the corona pandemic.
The number one corona hotspot among the districts is the Saale-Orla district, for which the incidence - the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days - was given on Wednesday as 448.
From Tuesday to Wednesday, the health authorities across Thuringia counted 865 new infections.
In the intensive care units of the hospitals, the situation remained tense with 217 severely Covid-19 sufferers treated there.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, 109,280 people in Thuringia have been infected with the corona virus.
3,678 infected people died.
