Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - The craft businesses and the hospitality industry in Baden-Württemberg want to be involved in possible model projects for corona vaccination in the economy.

"Small and medium-sized businesses must not be left out," demanded Rainer Reichhold, President of the Craftsmen State, on Wednesday.

It was recognized that coordinating the vaccination campaign was a highly complex and dynamic challenge.

"However, we expect the trade to be included in the model projects."

Many of the approximately 800,000 workers in the craft have customer contact, said Reichhold, but at the same time many companies do not have company medical structures.

Nevertheless, there are options, for example through the occupational health service.

Concepts are already being worked on.

The state chairman of the hotel and restaurant association, Fritz Engelhardt, made a similar statement.

"The state government

must not allow the approximately 250,000 people in the

hospitality industry to be left out if companies and company doctors are

involved in the vaccination campaign," he said.

In Bavaria there are already model projects in which hospitality workers are vaccinated.

The state announced last week that company doctors would also be involved in the vaccination from the summer.

Before that, there should be a model project in prisons.
