Baden-Baden (dpa) - As of today, a 64-year-old is facing 180 cases of sexual abuse of children before the Baden-Baden regional court. The public prosecutor's office accuses him of having sexually abused several girls between the ages of five and eleven from 2005 to 2019 in Bühl (Rastatt district), some seriously. The defendant is said to be silent and has been in custody since his arrest in the summer. "The investigations turned out to be particularly time-consuming, as a number of children had to be questioned by a judge, victim reports had to be drawn up and testimony-psychological reports had to be obtained," said the public prosecutor.

According to earlier information from the authority, the alleged victims are a girl from the man's neighborhood and five friends of his granddaughters.

The deeds only became known in January 2020.

For the process, a further negotiation date is initially set on Friday.
