Kiel (dpa / lno) - Second division soccer team Holstein Kiel has extended the contract with full-back Johannes van den Bergh, which expires at the end of the season.

As the club announced on Wednesday, the 34-year-old defensive specialist will stay with the “Storks” until June 30, 2022.

Van den Bergh, who has been with Kiel since 2017, has so far played 111 competitive games in the KSV jersey.

"Johannes van den Bergh has played an important role in the team over the past four years and has proven how important he is for the group with his footballing quality and experience," said Holstein's sports director Uwe Stöver.
