Bockhorst (dpa / lni) - A fire in a woodshed in Bockhorst (Emsland district) has spread to the roof structure of an adjacent elementary school and caused considerable damage.

The fire broke out in the shed at night for an initially unknown cause, a police spokesman announced on Wednesday.

From there, the flames spread to the roof structure of the elementary school, and an adjacent residential building was also slightly damaged.

According to the police, the damage to the school is considerable, but the exact amount of damage could not initially be stated.

Classes could not take place in the building for the time being, it said.

Nobody got hurt.
