April 21, 2021 Composer and producer Jim Steinman died at 73 of kidney failure.

His brother Bill broke the news to the Associated Press, and the news soon spread to social media and international media, including the BBC.

Author and producer of pop songs for singers such as Bonnie Tyler, Celine Dion and Barbra Streisand, he reached the peak of success in the 70s with Meat Loaf.  



Born in California, he has sold more than 190 million records and won four Grammy Awards. Among his hits, Bat Out Of Hell, a 1977 album with over 50 million copies sold worldwide. There are countless posts that remember him on twitter. "My songs are hymns - said Steinman in an interview with Rolling Stones - to those moments when you feel like you are on the head of a burning match".
