Magdeburg (dpa / sa) - The number of new corona infections recorded within seven days per 100,000 inhabitants went down again on Wednesday.

According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the value in the morning was 171.3, after it was 185.7 on Tuesday.

On Monday the value was given as 178.3.

According to the RKI, the nationwide seven-day incidence was 160.1.

A good 24,800 cases had been reported.

After the neighboring states of Thuringia (240.2) and Saxony (200.8) and Bavaria (184.8), Saxony-Anhalt has the highest number of infections nationwide.

For the Burgenland district, the RKI showed on Wednesday the highest seven-day incidence in the country at 284.6.

The Saalekreis was 208.4 and the independent city of Halle was 208.2 above the 200 limit.
