The alarm came in at 11 on Wednesday morning.

According to the police, there has been a quarrel between two students at the school, and one of them is said to have acted threateningly and, among other things, showed a knife.

No one should have been injured in the incident and the arrest should have gone smoothly.

Interrogations with students at the school have been held during the day and the police have now drawn up a report of attempted murder.

Police quickly on the scene

The school's own crisis management was set in motion. Students in need of conversational support have gained access to it, Västervik municipality announces in a press release.

We have good routines in place for different types of events at our high school and my first assessment is that it has worked well in this situation, says Magnus Bengtsson, head of children and education in Västervik municipality in a press release.

It feels good to know that the police have such a fast reaction time and can help when situations like this arise.

Teaching at the school continued as usual on Wednesday.
