Bonn (dpa / lnw) - The Bonn district court has sentenced a defendant to eleven years in prison for rape and dangerous bodily harm.
As a court spokeswoman announced on Wednesday, the 45-year-old had locked, abused and raped his 23-year-old partner for two days in the shared apartment.
When the woman was "already very close to death" two days later, according to the verdict, the defendant called the emergency doctor.
The 23-year-old was reanimated and survived after a week in a coma.
According to the verdict, the defendant was angry because the woman wanted to leave him.
The couple had lived together for four years.
To finance the maintenance, the Romanian sent the 23-year-old to brothels.
"He treated them like his property," said the judgment.
Since the defendant got help in time, he was not charged with attempted manslaughter.
