Hof / Marktredwitz (dpa / lby) - In a drug frenzy, a teenager kicked the front door of a 92-year-old, hit and kicked the woman several times in the head and fatally injured her.
"Since the youth chamber could not rule out that the accused was incompetent at the time of the crime, a conviction for manslaughter was not possible," said the Hof district court on Tuesday.
The court imposed a three-year youth sentence for deliberate intoxication.
The young man has to go to a rehab center to treat his drug addiction.
According to the court, the then 17-year-old consumed cannabis and LSD in September 2020.
His intoxication had "led to highly aggressive and uncontrolled behavior".
Startled by the noise, the 92-year-old from Marktredwitz (Hof district) opened her front door, but closed it again immediately.
This made the accused aware of them.
The adolescent kicked the senior citizen's front door and hit and kicked her head several times - even when she was already lying on the floor.
The 92-year-old died from the injuries.
"The youth chamber could not determine a specific motive for the crime," it said.
The verdict is not yet legally binding.
