On April 19, 2021, State Councilor and Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi attended the high-level public debate on "Strengthening Cooperation between the United Nations and Regional and Subregional Organizations" of the UN Security Council as the special representative of President Xi Jinping.

Wang Yi said that China has always been an active supporter and participant in the cause of the United Nations, and a firm defender and practitioner of the "United Nations Charter."

China has always supported the United Nations in strengthening cooperation with regional and sub-regional organizations and has made active efforts to this end.

A large part of the China-United Nations Peace and Development Fund is used to support regional and sub-regional efforts.

China has announced that it will donate 300,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine to UN peacekeepers, which will be used first in African mission areas. We also support the use of these vaccines in peacekeeping operations of regional and sub-regional organizations.

Wang Yi said that China has established strategic partnerships with regional organizations such as the African Union, ASEAN, and the Arab League.

This partnership is based on a common destiny, upholds the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations, adheres to the principle of extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits, and is committed to achieving win-win cooperation. It never targets any third party.

China is willing to further strengthen cooperation with various regional organizations, work in the same direction, build peace, and jointly promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
