As the spread of infection increases among children and young people, more and more teachers are beginning to worry about their own safety. Now the teachers' union wants the school staff to be given higher priority in the vaccination queue. - This is the most effective thing you can do to ensure that teachers are kept healthy and thus that schools can be kept open, says Johanna Jara Åstrand, chairman of the Swedish Teachers' Association.
According to the Swedish Public Health Agency, there are no plans to change the priorities, but teachers and school staff will continue to be vaccinated in the fourth phase.
- The school as a risk environment does not differ from many other risk environments, says Anders Tegnell, state epidemiologist at the Swedish Public Health Agency.
