Lars Johansson has volunteered for the Sea Rescue Society since April 2001 and this year he celebrates twenty years as a lifeguard.

He is very worried that he may get into the situation where he can not man the lifeboat and pull out in a sharp position.

- Yes, I'm worried.

It does not feel good at all.

Difficult to staff

In Kristinehamn, there are three units to send out on the water when the accident occurs.

The 12 meter long and twelve ton heavy lifeboat Victoria can handle almost anything, says Jessica Lindqvist.

- Here is everything, fire equipment, medical equipment, we can bring ambulance personnel and police.

And despite her size and weight, she does not go very deep, she says.

But manning Victoria requires at least three people, preferably four, says Lars Johansson, so to cope with this summer's boating season, a temporary solution is required.

- Yes, we have been promised to borrow a smaller boat that only requires a crew of two men.
