Lower Saxony's constitution protection authorities are observing an increasing willingness to use violence and radicalization on the part of corona deniers and right-wing extremists on the Internet.

People there radicalized themselves more quickly because conspiracy myths and right-wing extremist propaganda were widely available, the authority said on request.

The anonymity accelerates the exchange with like-minded people.

Extreme right-wing parties did not benefit from this development.

"Short-lived and constantly changing groups" formed.

One example is the so-called "Group S." which is currently on trial in Stuttgart for right-wing terrorism.

The Office for the Protection of the Constitution observed this virtual radicalization “with great concern”.

In recent protests, so-called lateral thinkers, incited by conspiracy myths, also appeared more and more violent, as it was said.

One reason for this is that organizers of anti-corona demos are increasingly deliberately ignoring the mask requirement.

This increases the potential for conflict and leads to clashes between police and demonstrators.

An example of violent Corona deniers is the arson attack on the Robert Koch Institute.

The lateral thinker demos also attract violent right-wing extremists.

These were said to have appeared with violence against law enforcement officers and counter-demonstrations - as happened in Leipzig or Berlin.

The radicalization of people on the Internet and the resulting right-wing extremist acts of violence are currently one of the greatest challenges for the security authorities.

As a consequence, the law enforcement authorities in the area of the Internet have been upgraded in terms of personnel and technology.
