Kaiserslautern (dpa / lrs) - The police caught a young speedster on the Autobahn 6 near Kaiserslautern on Monday.
The officers monitored the traffic in a civilian vehicle with a video measuring system when a 23-year-old driver in the area of a construction site was constantly accelerating and heard the so-called exhaust popping, as the police announced on Tuesday morning.
After leaving the construction site, the young man accelerated to maximum performance.
When he slowed down again, the officers were able to measure a value of 177 kilometers per hour.
A short time later I braked to 30 kilometers per hour.
The officers stopped the man and confronted him about his behavior.
During the inspection, they found a radar detector in his car.
Several proceedings have been initiated against the man.
