Kiel (dpa / lno) - The negative corona test in hand and protective mask put on - this is the only way visitors to some theaters in Schleswig-Holstein can enjoy culture again during these weeks.

As the first larger stage and one of 13 selected model projects, the Kiel Theater opened to its audience on Tuesday.

In the evening in the opera house, it showed the operetta “Der Vetter aus Dingsda” by the German composer Eduard Künneke (1885-1953), which premiered 100 years ago - in a 90-minute concert version.

This ended a long compulsory break: the last time the Kiel Theater welcomed an audience to opera choir music was on November 1st last year. Now the relief is great: «The entire ensemble of the Kiel Opera is happy to finally be able to sing for you again after the lockdown and with great joy rushes to Künneke's catchy melodies, from“ I'm just a poor traveling companion ”to“ Sieben ” I've lived in Batavia for years "», it says on the homepage.

Since Monday, 13 cultural sites in the north have been able to open to visitors under strict guidelines, including several theaters.

150 visitors were allowed to come to Kiel on Tuesday, around 120 tickets were sold.

Under normal circumstances, the opera house can hold up to 800 spectators.

Now a couple of visitors can sit together, then three places remain free.

"It's really exciting," said visitor Ulrike Lennartz.

"After so many months back in the theater for the first time - this is a special day," added her companion Bettina Krieger.

Other events in the next few days are sold out in Kiel.

Model projects are possible if the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in a district or in an independent city was below 100 for seven consecutive days.

According to increasing numbers, Kiel recently had an incidence value of 81.0, with a national average of 72.1.

If the numbers are too high, model projects must be canceled;

the respective health department decides on this.
