Shortly after 08.30, a truck dropped a number of hay bales on the motorway between the Linköping Väst (111) junction and the Mjölby Öst (109) junction in the southbound direction.
The rescue service is on its way and the Swedish Transport Administration estimates that the work will be ready by 09.30.
Around the same time, the rescue service was alerted to the E4 north of Norrköping, at the height of Sikudden.
A northbound truck had started to burn there. The Swedish Transport Administration estimates that the work will be ready by 10 o'clock.
