The alarm came at 19:16 in the evening.

- At the same time as an empty boat came ashore coming ashore, witnesses have seen a person out in the water who was then no longer seen, says Christer Ekeroth, assistant rescue leader at the Swedish Maritime Administration's sea rescue.

During the evening, the rescue service's divers searched the water outside the harbor in Vikhög, but without results.

- We have seven boats and a helicopter searching over an area that stretches from Vikhög all the way to Denmark, says Christer Ekeroth.

Probably a Danish boat

During the latter part of the evening, the case was handed over to the Danish sea rescue.

- No person has been found outside Vikhög and we are now pretty sure that it was not a person who was seen in the water, says Emelie Boyd, press officer at the Swedish Maritime Administration.

Things in the empty boat that came into Vikhög indicate that it has a Danish affiliation.

- Therefore, applicants have now been concentrated on the Danish side, but we assist with resources if needed, says Emelie Boyd.
