Schwerin (dpa) - Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania's Minister of Health Harry Glawe (CDU) has initially rejected model projects with isolated relaxation against the background of too high numbers of corona infections.

It is currently not responsible to launch model projects, said Glawe on Tuesday in Schwerin.

The state government agreed at the end of March that there should be a model project for each district or urban district from mid-April, which will then last two to three weeks.

The projects need the approval of the Ministry of Health.

According to Glawe, several proposals had been submitted.

As examples, he cited the opening of the retail trade in Western Pomerania-Rügen, more education, leisure and sports activities in the state capital Schwerin and the opening of outdoor catering in parts of the district of Western Pomerania-Greifswald.
