Oldenburg (dpa / lni) - The Oldenburg Fire Brigade Association calls for firefighters to be vaccinated more quickly.

The members expected the state government to rethink their prioritization in the next few weeks, according to a statement.

The "Nordwest-Zeitung" reported about it first.

The fire brigade association criticized the Lower Saxony social and health minister Daniela Behrens (SPD).

This had forbidden the administration of residual vaccines to fire brigade members.

The patience of the fire brigade members is exhausted, an "appreciative signal for the fire brigade's vaccination prioritization from the state government" is expected.

The central associations of the fire services in the federal and state levels tried to work out a solution with the decision-makers.

The fire brigade associations have so far behaved constructively and moderately, it said.

In the meantime, the fire brigades had the impression that their loyalty and cooperative collaboration were being exploited.

In the newspaper report, a spokesman for the Ministry of Social Affairs in Hanover referred to the Federal Standing Committee on Vaccination, which had classified fire fighters in priority 3 and groups 1 and 2 were currently in turn.

The inclusion of further professional groups in the vaccination campaign depends on the vaccine delivery by the federal government.
