Halle (dpa / sa) - The labor courts in Saxony-Anhalt received fewer lawsuits and more proceedings were dealt with in the past year.

The number of procedures received at the courts in Dessau-Roßlau, Halle, Magdeburg and Stendal fell from around 9,200 in 2019 to just under 8,400, according to the regional labor court. A good 8,800 cases were dealt with, around 600 more than in the previous year.

At the regional labor court, on the other hand, the number of new proceedings entered rose within one year from 481 to 788, last year 593 were dealt with, and in 2019 it was 546.

"A significant increase in inputs in connection with the corona pandemic can therefore not be determined," said a spokesman when asked. Two dismissal protection proceedings were pending at the Dessau-Roßlau labor court, in which a care service company was dismissed vis-à-vis female employees. The women did not get vaccinated immediately. The state labor court announced that the disputes had been ended amicably by way of a settlement.

In the middle of last year, the state labor court had expected that more proceedings would arise in the following months, such as dismissal protection suits in the corona pandemic.

The spokesman also pointed out that the labor law disputes usually cannot be seen directly as to whether they are related to Corona.

The labor courts and the state labor court are currently not restricted because of the corona pandemic, it said.

The staffing of judges in the labor justice system in Saxony-Anhalt is still sufficient.
