Covid-19: France toughens its measures for travelers from certain countries

New decisions will be made in France for certain travelers who will land on national soil.
These measures come into force on Saturday April 24.
They are more restrictive and the fines could be heavy for those who do not respect the rules.

Before boarding, passengers from Brazil, Chile, Argentina, South Africa, as well as the department of Guyana will be required to provide a negative PCR test of less than 36 hours, instead of 72 hours.
Otherwise, they will have to provide a PCR of less than 72 hours accompanied by an antigen test of less than 24 hours.
They will also need to have proof of a compelling reason.

As soon as they arrive on national territory, they will be placed under house arrest by prefectural decree.
They will also have to give a precise address in the event of an inspection during this quarantine.
The device will take a few days to be put in place, because there is legal work to be done, explained the Secretary of State for European Affairs, Clément Beaune.
Travelers who do not respect this 10-day isolation will be liable to a fine of 1,500 euros and 3,000 euros in the event of a repeat offense, said government spokesman Gabriel Attal.
In addition, discussions are still underway at European level to consider coordinated responses, and in particular to add India to this list.
