Merseburg (dpa / sa) - A stranger attacked a gas station in Merseburg and threatened two people with a gun.

As a police spokeswoman announced on Tuesday, the man entered the gas station in Thomas-Müntzer-Straße on Monday evening and asked for cash to be returned.

He threatened the 59-year-old employee and a 61-year-old customer.

After the 59-year-old gave the perpetrator several hundred euros in cash, he fled.

The woman and the 61-year-old were in shock.

The 61-year-old had to receive medical treatment.

According to the police, the search for the unknown has so far been unsuccessful.

Investigations are now underway against the perpetrator for serious extortion by robbery.
