Raul Castro denounces the subversion of social networks

The Cuban authorities are trying by all means to stop this wave of virtual protests and this 8th Congress is an opportunity to open the debate between the delegates of the PCC. “

The grassroots organizations of the party must stimulate and develop revolutionary activism on social networks; we must improve our struggle in this field and strengthen our action

”, affirms Victor Gaute Lopez of the“ ideological work of the party ”commission.

The party and the government consider that what is being played on the networks is an ideological war against Cuba.

There is a symbolic war against our revolution today,”

says delegate Elier Ramirez Canedo, “

but we also face a cultural war against our past, because they know that in history lies the great strength of our revolution.

 "

During his inaugural address to the 8th CPC Congress, Raul Castro denounced the subversion of social networks and the false information shared there.

The protest artists, a political opposition of a new kind

They are armed with social networks and their art and are currently forming a disturbing political opposition.

Katherine Bisquet is a young poet, she is one of those protest artists, whom the authorities consider to be mercenaries.

Currently, they are trying to meet and mobilize, through the San Isidro Movement or the November 27 Movement, a new form of disturbing political opposition.

"

Everything we have tried so far, the authorities have exterminated it, so for the moment we are recovering our strength,"

relates Katherine Bisquet.

But we feel that currently there is an awakening of civil society and the community of intellectuals;

which frightens the authorities because every day we are a little more numerous and we unite.

"

The writer is no longer afraid of repression and thwarts censorship thanks to the internet and she considers that social networks have become a weapon in this political battle. According to Katherine Bisquet, the departure of Raul Castro and the arrival of a new generation at the head of the party will not change anything, because the political system is solid and the artistic opposition of which she is a part needs more support: "

We cannot underestimate the authorities because they have been in power for 60 years, they are solid, they have the strength of their ideology and their way of acting which are mediocre but which exist, which does not have Civil society ! But civil society should wake up and take to the streets, become aware of its rights!

"

During these 4 days of congress, she and the majority of protest artists were placed under house arrest or taken into police custody.
