Kiel (dpa / lno) - The SPD in Schleswig-Holstein will redefine its top management this weekend.

After a two-year term of office, the state chairwoman Serpil Midyatli will run for re-election on Saturday.

In 2019 she received 90.1 percent of the vote when she was elected to succeed Ralf Stegner.

As things stand, the 45-year-old will not have an opponent.

The corona circumstances force the SPD to vote under special circumstances.

Since the state party conference is not allowed to take place as a face-to-face event in Neumünster as planned, the 300 delegates will initially vote digitally on Saturday.

Since this procedure is not provided for in the articles of association, the result must be confirmed “in real life”.

In addition, there will be an election on Sunday at six locations in the country.

As for Midyatli, there are no opposing candidates for the two deputies, Sophia Schiebe and Sönke Rix, or for treasurer Stefan Bolln.

There are three more applicants than places for the seven observer posts in the state board.

Experienced members of the state parliament Kai Dolgner (51) and Martin Habersaat (44) as well as MEP Delara Burkhardt (28) want to join the committee.
