According to MUCF's survey, there are meeting places for young LGBTQI people in 43 of Sweden's 290 municipalities, but none in Västmanland County.

The government has given the authority an assignment to promote so that more meeting places are created and there is SEK 2.4 million in grants to apply for.

The meeting places, which can be physical or digital, should mainly be aimed at LGBTQI people under the age of 25.

- We know that many young LGBTQI people experience greater mental illness and have more difficulty establishing themselves in the labor market and in society. If you want to think long-term, it is better to support these young people at an early stage, says Lena Nyberg.
