Leipzig / Dresden (dpa) - A lightning strike at the Teltow train station (Brandenburg) led to restrictions in rail traffic on Sunday evening.

The impact triggered a short circuit in the overhead lines and a signal box malfunction, said a spokesman for Deutsche Bahn.

All ICE, EC and IC trains between Leipzig and Berlin, between Halle and Berlin and between Dresden and Berlin are affected.

After 10 p.m., the railway announced that the disruption should probably be resolved on Monday night.

Meanwhile, only trains in the direction of Berlin are affected.

The trains going south could run as planned again.

According to the information, the route between Berlin-Südkreuz and Ludwigsfelde was not passable in both directions for a while.

An ICE got stuck near Großbeeren-Süd.

Other long-distance trains were diverted according to the railway.
