In the British Parliament, MP Vicky Foxcroft chose sign language to challenge Prime Minister Boris Johnson on the lack of an interpreter for the deaf and hard of hearing.

In France, Marion Béguier, sign language interpreter, also deplores a lack of interpretation of policies.

"We must extend accessibility in the media, television but also in the legal and medical sectors for the education of deaf children," she said.
