China News Service, Beijing, April 19 (Reporter Wang Kai) Everyone is familiar with Zou Taofen. The award named after him is the pursuit of countless Chinese journalists. The Sanlian Bookstore he founded is the spiritual home of readers.

But did you know that this patriotic democrat who was not pursued as an official member of the Communist Party of China until his death was highly praised by the Communist Party of China and was granted "the glory of our Party"?

Looking back at Zou Taofen's life, he has been adhering to the tenet of "being a mouthpiece for the masses" since 1922, he has been adhering to the purpose of "being a mouthpiece for the masses", caring about people's lives, and exposing the ugliness of warlords, bureaucrats and politicians, and he is deeply loved by readers.

After the "September 18th" Incident, Zou Taofen actively participated in the anti-Japanese national salvation movement, denounced Chiang Kai-shek for fighting the civil war, responded to the CCP’s call for the establishment of an anti-Japanese national united front, and inspired thousands of aspiring young people to embark on the revolutionary road with a huge pen like a rafter. And rushed to the front line of the Anti-Japanese War.

During the years of forced exile, Zou Taofen inspected the United States, Britain, Germany, France, and the Soviet Union and other countries, read a large number of Marxist works, achieved ideological sublimation, and gradually strengthened his belief in choosing the Communist Party of China.

After returning to China, he was arrested and imprisoned with Shen Junru and others for his spare no effort to propagate the anti-Japanese war.

Although he was released after the outbreak of the all-out war of resistance in 1937, he has been suppressed by the KMT authorities.

Especially after the Southern Anhui Incident in 1941, the Kuomintang's persecution of democratic progressives intensified. With the help of the CCP, Zou Taofen had to move to many places and continue to engage in anti-Japanese cultural propaganda work.

It was during this period that he repeatedly asked to join the party.

However, due to work needs, the party organization did not immediately accept his request.

Persevering, Tian was jealous of talents. On July 24, 1944, Zou Taofen, who was only 49 years old, died of illness in Shanghai.

Before he died, he still remembered his long-cherished wish, dictating his will and applying for party membership again.

On September 28, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China ratified him as an official member of the Communist Party of China.

Although Zou Taofen failed to join the party before his death, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China called him "the glory of our party" in a message of condolences to his family.

Mao Zedong wrote an essay for his relatives, praising him for serving the people sincerely, dedicating himself to death, and having died; Zhou Enlai also said with emotion that the path Zou Taofen has experienced is the path of Chinese intellectuals moving toward progress and revolution.

In history, many of the democratic and progressive people, like Zou Taofen, took a long process to get the party's long-cherished wish.

For example, Mr. Soong Ching Ling, who became a member of the Communist Party of China shortly before his death; another example, Mr. Deng Chumin, when he finally joined the party at the age of 73, excitedly quoted Su Shi’s famous saying, “Who is the way to live is no less, the water in front of the door can still be west” to express himself Of excitement.

The patriotic and progressive people represented by Zou Taofen, without exception, were outstanding in that era.

After repeated exploration, comparison, practice, and thinking, they clearly realized that only the Communist Party can save China, and they chose the same faith destination without complaint or regret.

In order to realize the common great ideal, many patriotic democrats have walked hand in hand with the Chinese Communist Party in the tide of the Chinese revolution, and devoted their entire lives to the cause of liberation of the Chinese people.

Following the pace of history, many of them have experienced the journey from patriots to neo-democrats to communists.

In the end, they were accepted as official members of the Communist Party of China, fulfilling their long-cherished wish.

This is also the best interpretation of sharing weal and woe.
