With a confident 29:22 (15: 8) home win against Bergische HC, the Flensburg team defended their lead on Sunday afternoon.

Thanks to the equally safe 33:22 (17:10) away win at HBW Balingen-Weilstetten, Kiel remains close behind its northern rivals.

The best Flensburg thrower was the Swedish vice world champion Hampus Wanne with eight hits.

A Swedish national player was also the most successful goalscorer for THW: Niclas Ekberg with seven goals.
