The essayist Mohamed Bajrafil is a well-known figure among Muslims in Île-de-France.

The theologian, who had preached for fourteen years at the mosque of Ivry-sur-Seine, in the Paris suburbs, recently gave up being an imam.

A decision taken in particular because of the stranglehold, according to him, of the French Council of Muslim Worship (CFCM) on the training and labeling of imams.

Mohamed Bajrafil believes that the organization is not very representative and under foreign influence.

Despite everything, he intends to continue the fight for ideas and remains convinced that Islam and the Republic are compatible.

Even more, for him, their fate is irreparably linked.
