It is mother Beata and father Gimmli who gave birth to four little bear cubs on January 13 this year.

Today, the cubs were traditionally released into Lycksele Zoo to feel the snow.

- A positive signal for the coming season and a hope that we can return to something normal, says the zoo's CEO Lennart Melin.

Difficult to agree on names

There are three females and one male and now the big question is what the bear cubs should be called.

- As CEO, I think it's me who should be allowed to decide what they should be called, but I will probably be against the rest of the female-dominated workplace, says Lennart Melin with a laugh.

In any case, he has had to decide what the zoo's new otter should be called.

- His name will be Martin Otter and I will not back down from that.

Brexit has delayed the move of older litters

Now there are nine bears living at Lycksele Zoo and it is on the limit of how many bears can fit.

Three bear cubs from a previous litter are to be sold to a zoo in Scotland that has been left behind due to Brexit.

Lennart Melin hopes that they will get it in order during the summer and that the older bears will be allowed to come to their new home.
