Erfurt (dpa / th) - The coming month is important for parents of future schoolchildren: The registration phase for the school year 2022/23 starts at the beginning of May - and no longer in December as before.
Parents of children who will go to school in 2022/2023 must be active in the period from May 2nd to May 10th, as the Ministry of Education announced on Thursday in Erfurt.
The registration time is brought forward by around seven months.
Registration in the spring of the previous year is also valid for all subsequent school years of state schools.
Moving the date forward enables schools and school authorities to better plan their schooling, according to the ministry.
In addition, the health authorities would have more time for the school medical admissions examinations.
According to the Ministry of Education, parents of children who will soon be going to school should inform themselves about the registration procedure in their municipalities in the coming days.
