Fulda (dpa / lhe) - From this Thursday (from 9.30 a.m.), a 31-year-old man has to answer before the Fulda regional court for alleged treacherous murder.

Prosecutors accused him of stabbing his former partner when the doctor came home from her night shift on December 7, 2020.

The Romanian defendant allegedly followed her from the hospital and attacked her in the back yard of an apartment building after she got out of her car.

The 35-year-old, also Romanian, was killed by a single stab or cut in the neck with a sharp-edged object, probably with a knife, according to prosecutors.

The murder weapon was not found.

The autopsy showed that the doctor had bled to death and suffocated within two minutes.

Only a few hours later, the police arrested their ex-partner in Fulda.

Since then he has been in custody.

The victim left a son who was two years old at the time of the crime.

The defendant is not his father.

The court set 16 trial days for the trial.

A judgment is expected in mid-July.
