In 2013, the doctor, who was then registered at an address in Älmhult, was convicted of gun crime, aggravated weapon crime, aggravated smuggling and preparation for aggravated smuggling.

He brought in weapons from Germany to Sweden, stored the weapons and arranged for false import permits.

The doctor was sentenced to six months in prison but eventually served his sentence under intensive surveillance with a foot shackle.

Got a doctor's ID

As early as 2012, when the National Board of Health and Welfare became aware of the crimes the man was then suspected of, they interrupted his AT service.

But eight years later, in October 2018, he managed to get a doctor's ID in Sweden.

A year earlier, Norway had revoked his Norwegian medical ID when there was information that he had a love affair with a patient in psychiatry, and that he had committed a serious crime in Sweden.

The National Board of Health and Welfare in Sweden did not make any further investigation before the approval of the identification in 2018 as they were of the opinion that the doctor had not been convicted of the crimes he had been suspected of.

Worked in Växjö

During May to November 2019, the doctor worked in a ward at Växjö hospital, but he was not allowed to continue working due to lack of skills and the fact that he lacked the ability to work independently.

According to the decision from HSAN, the man suffers from many years of mental illness and has, among other things, been cared for in inpatient care.

The decision to revoke his doctor's ID card came at the end of March and the competent authorities in the EEA and Switzerland will be notified.
