Hamburg (dpa) - Now you can see it: The scaffolding around the luxury yacht “Sassi II” in the Blohm & Voss dock in Hamburg has been dismantled, the shell is apparently finished.

The almost 150-meter-long ornate ship was destroyed in a devastating fire at the shipyard in Bremen in 2018 and was rebuilt in Hamburg.

The «Bild» had previously reported on it.

According to the newspaper, the yacht is said to belong to Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan from Abu Dhabi.

The Lürssen shipyard, to which Blohm & Voss belongs, did not comment on it - out of discretion towards the customers, said a spokesman.

In September 2018, a fire broke out in the dock of the Lürssen shipyard in Bremen.

It took 900 firefighters more than two days to extinguish the almost completed ship and dock.

Then the dock and shipwreck were towed to Hamburg.

While the dock came back to Bremen after the repair, the "Sassi" - at that time still without a number - was first dismantled and then rebuilt in Hamburg.

The “Sassi” became the “Sassi II”.

The final assembly is now to take place again in a shipyard near Bremen, according to «Bild».

The ship should then be ready in 2022.
