Halle (dpa / sa) - The Halle district court has sentenced a 21-year-old to three years and nine months in prison for bodily harm resulting in death.

In addition, the judges found him guilty of dangerous bodily harm on Wednesday.

The public prosecutor had demanded six years in prison, the defense pleaded for acquittal.

The German had confessed to having stabbed two men with a kitchen knife in an apartment building in Halle in September 2020.

A 31-year-old was killed.

A friend of the same age was seriously injured in the knife attack.

The defendant gave self-defense as a motive.

The court did not see it that way.

The verdict is not yet legally binding.
