Sinsheim (dpa / lsw) - A police officer in Sinsheim (Rhein-Neckar district) was seriously injured in the collision with an e-bike driver.
Before that, the cyclist is said to have driven directly towards the 26-year-old officer during an evening vehicle check, as the police announced on Wednesday.
The two-wheeler did not stop and drove straight to the officer for unknown reasons.
After the clash with the officer, the cyclist crashed into a parked car.
Then the man got up on Tuesday evening and fled.
The police put the damage at around 2,000 euros.
The officer was seriously injured in his knee.
The search for the cyclist is ongoing.
