Schwerin (dpa / mv) - A total of around 150 million euros are available in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania this year for the renovation and new construction of roads.

A little more than 100 million euros are earmarked for the federal highways that the state administers for the federal government, as the Ministry of Transport announced on Thursday in Schwerin.

Around 49 million euros in state funds are earmarked for the state roads.

"We continue to pursue the premise of preservation before new construction on federal roads and, in particular, on state roads," said Transport Minister Christian Ebene (SPD).

The construction of cycle paths is particularly important to him.

According to the information, a total of more than 20 million euros are earmarked for this.

According to the ministry, the largest new construction project this year is the extension of the Schwerin-Mueß motorway slip road on the 321 federal highway.
